How Beyoncé can help you cut absence rates at work
If staff sick days and absenteeism are taking their toll in your business, I’ve found the solution that just might save your bacon. And it involves a fair bit of shoulder shimmying, hip swinging, a whole load of and booty shaking…
Beyoncé; eat ya heart out.
That’s right; the NHS are offering their staff Zumba lessons to try and curb sickness and absence from work.
Alongside the dance / fitness class, the NHS are set to offer physiotherapy and counselling to their staff in a bid to make a dent in their sickness bill. It currently stands at £2.4 billion a year.
This might seem like an unusual method, but it’s really got me thinking about how I can take better care of my staff.
You see, the people that work IN a business are so important. They do the day-to-day work that makes a business what it is, and they definitely deserve a treat every now and again as a way of saying “Thanks”.
Maybe it’s a Zumba lesson, breakfast ordered in on a Friday, or a team outing where you can let your hair down. Whatever it is, I reckon the NHS are on to something here. Look after your staff, and they’ll reward you.
Do you have any employee incentives or perks at your business? If so, I’d love to hear what you do!
After all, the inspiration might just save my staff from the sight of me in lycra giving Beyoncé a run for her money!
